A kitchen extension to enhance family life

Surrey KT8

Kantec’s attention to detail clinched the deal for this couple and their single-storey extension.

When Carrie and Alex Llewelyn finally found Kantec, they had been wanting to put a single-storey rear extension on their Victorian cottage for years. ‘We planned meticulously, so we’d been thinking about it for quite a long time and doing the saving up,’ said Carrie. ‘I definitely knew I wanted a one-stop shop company who had thought out all the contractors for me.’

The Corris Family love their new home

A rescued family home

Ealing W5

How the Corris family worked with Kantec to completely refurbish their house.

Wendie and Ben Corris had a simple plan – move one of the walls in their Ealing home to create a bigger family bathroom for them and their two young boys. They hired a building firm and left them to get on with the work. ‘The next thing we knew, they’d completely gutted the whole place,’ said Wendie, leaving the couple understandably devastated, having lost time, money and their faith in the redevelopment process. Their neighbours weren’t happy either, but one of them recommended a new company they thought could handle the work. ‘They told us about Kantec,’ said Wendie. ‘They saved us.’

An open-plan triumph for all the family

East Molesey KT8

How even a weekly commute to Paris didn’t stop the Haywoods from getting the living space they always wanted.

When Richard and Sarah Haywood bought their semi-detached home they always knew an extension was on the cards. The house’s dated and traditional style, with individual rooms for cooking, eating and relaxing, was not for them. ‘We wanted the main living space to be open-plan,’ said Richard.

En-suite Bathroom

The Barclay Family enjoying their functional living space

A project planned around on-site living

Teddington TW11

The Barclays lived and worked at home while their extension was built – Kantec's expert planning made this possible.

It was fate that brought Kantec to James Barclay’s Teddington home, where he lives with his wife and two sons. We were undertaking the refurbishment of a listed building further down Park Road, which was a very large, high-pressure project. James lived round the corner. ‘We were looking for builders to do our extension anyway, and I’d seen their boards further up the road and had watched the progress,’ said James. When a member of the team parked right outside his house, James asked for a business card and the relationship began.
